Religious Education

Our RE Curriculum

At Telford Junior School, our Religious Education (RE) curriculum is thoughtfully designed to reflect the rich diversity of beliefs found in modern Britain, in line with government expectations for state-funded academy schools. Our curriculum promotes understanding, respect and tolerance for all major world religions, with a particular focus on those represented within the United Kingdom.

We follow a carefully balanced and structured programme that draws on the Warwickshire and Coventry Agreed Syllabus, while also incorporating bespoke units developed in school to meet the specific needs and interests of our pupils. This combination ensures both statutory compliance and a tailored learning experience that is relevant, engaging and meaningful.

Our curriculum provides opportunities for children to explore key beliefs, practices and values of Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Sikhism, Judaism, and Buddhism, while also offering space for thoughtful reflection on non-religious worldviews. Through discussion, enquiry-based learning and creative activities, pupils are encouraged to consider their own views, while learning to appreciate the perspectives of others.

We are committed to providing high-quality RE that supports our wider school ethos of inclusion, personal development and community engagement. Our aim is to develop pupils who are curious, reflective and respectful – equipped with the knowledge and empathy to thrive in a multicultural society.
