Year 3 Church Visit
Year 3 had a wonderful visit to St Mary Magdalene’s Church in Lillington. The trip gave the children a fantastic opportunity to learn more about the history of Lillington and the Christian faith in a real-life setting.
During the visit, the children explored different areas of the church and learned about some of the key features found in a Christian church. They discovered the meaning of Baptism and how it welcomes people into the Christian community, as well as learning about Holy Communion and even having the chance to try Communion wafers.
The visit also helped the children understand more about remembrance and the impact of war on the local community. By looking at memorials inside the church, they learned how people remember those who have served and why remembrance is an important part of local history in Lillington.
The children showed great curiosity, asked thoughtful questions and behaved exceptionally well throughout the visit. A big thank you as well to the parent helpers who joined us and supported the
