The Year 3 classes enjoyed taking part in a Stone Age Experience Day, delivered by the Warwick Museum Service. The children had great fun, examining artefacts and working in teams to answer questions about this fascinating period in history.
Each class also staged their very own Stone Age Exhibition, showcasing their fantastic project work. It was wonderful to have so many parents and carers joining us to share the children’s hard work and to hear the children talk about their exhibits.
Year 4 enjoyed an engaging workshop with a visiting robotics company. The session centred around bringing Ted Hughes’ “The Iron Man” to life, using LEGO robotics kits. Pupils worked collaboratively to design and build their own Iron Man robots, showing great teamwork as they planned, constructed and solved problems together. After building the robots, the children programmed them to move, light up and even speak, using sensors, so that the robots responded to their environment. Excitement filled the room whenever the Iron Man reacted to someone’s presence. The workshop was not only fun, it also introduced pupils to the basics of robotics, programming and STEM engineering through hands-on learning. The visit inspired creativity and curiosity, with many children expressing a keen interest in exploring technology and robotics further in the future.
Year 4 enjoyed an exciting cross-curricular Diwali week, filled with colour, creativity and celebration! The children learnt about the Festival of Light and its special traditions, exploring the themes of joy, kindness and togetherness.
They drew intricate Mehndi patterns and investigated symmetry through wonderful rangoli designs. The highlight of the week was learning a traditional Diwali dance, where everyone joined in with enthusiasm. It was a week of learning, discovery and cultural appreciation - a truly bright way for Year 4 to end a great first half term and celebrate the spirit of Diwali!

Our school community came together in an incredible show of generosity for our Harvest collection. Families donated a wonderful selection of tinned and fresh food, which was displayed in the hall as a backdrop to our Harvest assemblies. The display looked superb, with some lovely fresh produce highlighting the importance of the season.
During the assemblies, we reflected on all that Harvest means – giving thanks for the food we so often take for granted and recognising the hard work of farmers, producers and retailers, who ensure it reaches our shelves and our tables. We also spoke about the good that can be done when we share what we have with others, supporting those in our local community who may be struggling.
All the donations were taken to the Warwick Foodbank distribution centre, where they will make a real difference to local families. A huge thank you goes to the children who helped at every stage – from receiving and unpacking donations, to setting up the display and packing everything ready for delivery. Their teamwork and enthusiasm were inspiring - ably led by Bea and George (pictured).
We are so proud of the generosity shown by our school community – a true celebration of Harvest in action.

Our school community marked the European Day of Languages, an international event which promotes the rich diversity of languages and cultures across Europe. At Telford Junior School, each class chose a European country to research. Pupils explored their chosen nation’s people and culture, celebrating through art, cooking and tasting traditional foods, as well as dressing in the colours of their country’s flag. It was a joyful way to deepen cultural awareness and bring learning to life.
Telford Juniors proudly represented North & Mid Leamington at the Central Warwickshire Athletics Championship. Qualifying for this prestigious event is an outstanding achievement in itself, reflecting the hard work and talent of our young athletes. Our pupils competed across a variety of events, including javelin, long jump, relay races and individual sprints - and they certainly rose to the occasion!
Our Year 4 pupils proudly represented Warwickshire in the regional orienteering finals, competing against schools from Coventry and Solihull. The event tested a range of map-based skills, including a challenging course through the woods, where children had to navigate and locate hidden checkpoints. Our team showed outstanding teamwork, determination and perseverance throughout the day. Their hard work paid off with an impressive 3rd place finish! The children were thrilled with their accomplishment, with Annie saying, "This is my biggest achievement!"
Year 5 enjoyed their visit to the Coventry Transport Museum.
The Year 4 children had a great time at the Pioneer Centre in Staffordshire, on their 3-day residential visit. They took part in a range of activities, including caving, archery, and abseiling.
