Olympian Visits School

We were delighted to welcome Olympian sprinter, James Dasalou, to school on a very hot Wednesday morning for our special sponsored event. James, who represented Great Britain at the London 2012 and Rio 2016 Olympic Games, is a European champion and has won international medals as part of Great Britain's sprint relay teams. He is the second fastest Brit, after Linford Christie, running 100m in 9.91 seconds. During an inspiring assembly, James shared his journey to becoming an Olympic athlete, highlighting the importance of determination and hard work, while encouraging everyone to persevere through challenges and believe in their potential.

Thanks to the incredible support of our families, we raised £2,553. This means the school will receive approximately £1,500 to spend on new PE equipment, to enhance our lessons and provide even more opportunities for our pupils to enjoy being active.

This is an amazing achievement, and we would like to thank all our families for their generosity and support in making the event such a success.
