Telford Junior School was inspected by Ofsted on 7th July 2026. The inspection report recognised that Telford Junior School meets the expected standard in all areas inspected, with Inclusion judged to be a Strong Standard and safeguarding confirmed as fully effective.
Inspectors noted that pupils are proud to be part of the "Telford Junior family" and highlighted the school's inclusive ethos, high-quality support for pupils and strong pastoral care.
The report celebrates many strengths of our school, including:
- The strong support provided for pupils with additional needs and vulnerabilities.
- Pupils' positive behaviour, respect for others and enjoyment of learning.
- The broad and engaging curriculum, enhanced by a wide range of trips, visits and enrichment opportunities.
- The dedication and expertise of our staff team and the positive culture that exists across the school.
- The school's commitment to pupil wellbeing, personal development and inclusion.
- Good levels of attendance and pupils feeling safe, valued and supported.
Inspectors spoke positively about the way staff know pupils as individuals and work together to remove barriers to learning and wellbeing. They recognised that pupils enjoy coming to school, participate fully in school life and leave us well prepared for their next stage of education.
As with any inspection, the report also identified areas where we can improve further. Inspectors have asked us to:
- Strengthen pupils' handwriting skills, so that writing is consistently fluent across the curriculum.
- Continue to develop communications with parents and carers.
- Make even better use of attendance and behaviour information, to identify trends and respond quickly where needed.
These are areas we had already identified as priorities within our school improvement planning, and we welcome the inspectors' feedback as we continue our journey of improvement.
